Merch Launch

I don’t know if this is a hot take, but I think merch is so cool and so much fun to collect. Or—well—maybe the hot take is that I think authors and writers should be putting out more of it.

As a lover of music—specifically the rock/emo scene—the merchandise that a band sells is such an important part of the experience (for me). Buying or streaming the album is one thing, but hey, look at this T-shirt with a cool design! The band’s booth has exclusive autographed lithograph posters (only 50 per show)? Count me in. Wait—there are 20 different color variants for the same album? That’s so sick. Let me pick out the ones I like best.

It’s just so much fun. I also have other collections that go beyond merch from the bands I love. For example I really love Hard Rock Café enamel pins and collecting those little green Smiski figurines. I love a good collection—but I started running into the issue that when I found a new book or author I loved, the merch options that came along with their work was very limited or non-existent.

Not me, though. Not yo boi, JTRings. I have A LOT of merch already planned for the next few projects I’m working on—and I think they’ll be just so very neat.

So here’s the start—the beginning—of the merch collection. Are you ready? Because I am and I love it. I already can’t wait to create more of it.
